Year 3 Scientists Explore the World of Vertebrates

Our Year Three pupils at Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, have been demonstrating great curiosity and enthusiasm in their Science lessons as they explore the fascinating world of animals.

As part of their learning, the children have been studying amphibians and investigating the characteristics of different animal groups. They have been developing their understanding of what makes an animal a vertebrate, learning that vertebrates are animals with a backbone.

Using their observation and classification skills, pupils explored a variety of animals and identified whether they were vertebrates. They carefully considered the features of each animal before sorting them into different groups, helping to deepen their scientific understanding.

It has been wonderful to see the children asking thoughtful questions, sharing their ideas and using their curiosity to discover more about the natural world. Through discussions and practical activities, they have developed both their scientific knowledge and their confidence in working scientifically.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm Year Three have shown throughout this topic and look forward to seeing their curiosity continue to grow as they explore new areas of science.
