Eco Warriors Take Learning to New Heights with Solar Energy Exploration

The Eco Warriors at Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, recently enjoyed an exciting opportunity to see renewable energy in action as part of their learning about solar power.

To bring their classroom learning to life, Mr Freeman kindly took the group onto the school roof to visit our solar panels. The children were fascinated to see firsthand how solar energy is captured and used, helping them develop a deeper understanding of sustainable energy sources and their importance in protecting our environment.

From their unique rooftop viewpoint, the Eco Warriors were also able to spot solar panels on nearby homes, helping them recognise how renewable energy is being used within the local community. The visit sparked lots of curiosity, with children asking thoughtful questions about how the panels work and the benefits they bring.

As an added bonus, Mr Freeman showed the children some of the roof windows overlooking our corridors, giving them a completely different perspective of the school!

The experience was a fantastic example of learning beyond the classroom, inspiring our Eco Warriors to think about how we can all play a part in creating a more sustainable future. We would like to thank Mr Freeman for taking the time to share his knowledge and provide such a memorable learning experience.

We look forward to continuing our environmental work and empowering our pupils to become responsible citizens who care for the world around them.
