Parents and Children Create Kandinsky-Inspired Art Together

We were delighted to welcome parents into school for two special art workshops with our Year Four and Year Five classes, held as part of our ongoing work across the Four Cs Trust to strengthen home–school connections.

During the sessions, parents and children worked side by side to explore the life and work of the artist Wassily Kandinsky, focusing on his bold use of colour, shape and abstraction. Inspired by Kandinsky’s distinctive style, the children created stunning abstract watercolour paintings using a range of shapes and symbols.

Each artwork was carefully designed to reflect our school values of working hard, being kind and being brave, while also celebrating the children’s own individuality. Pupils thoughtfully chose colours, forms and patterns to represent who they are and what matters to them, resulting in unique and meaningful pieces of art.

The workshops were a wonderful opportunity for creativity, collaboration and conversation, and it was fantastic to see the pride shared by both parents and children as the artworks came together. The finished watercolours were truly beautiful and a powerful reflection of our values in action.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us and helped make these sessions such a success.
