Children’s Mental Health Week at Manor Drive Primary Academy

Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, is proud to be celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week with a range of activities designed to support wellbeing, encourage self-expression and promote a strong sense of belonging across our school community.

Throughout the week, pupils are being encouraged to start each morning in a calm and positive way by taking part in Cosmic Yoga sessions. These sessions help children to relax, focus their minds and prepare for the day ahead through gentle movement and mindfulness.

Our whole-school assemblies are themed around promoting children’s mental health, exploring topics such as emotions, resilience, kindness and the importance of looking after ourselves and one another. These assemblies provide valuable opportunities for discussion and reflection in a supportive environment.

In addition, classes are practising daily mindfulness breathing exercises between lesson transitions. These short, mindful moments help pupils to regulate their emotions, reset their focus and move calmly from one activity to the next.

To celebrate this year’s theme of belonging, pupils have also been invited to take part in a poster competition. Children are creating posters that reflect what 'belonging' means to them, with exciting prizes to be won. The winning entries will be announced this Friday, and we are looking forward to seeing the creativity and thought our pupils have put into their designs.

We will be ending the week on a high note with a non-uniform day, where children are encouraged to wear bright, bold and beautiful colours to celebrate individuality, positivity and self-expression.

Children’s Mental Health Week is an important opportunity to remind our pupils that their feelings matter and that support is always available. We are incredibly proud of how our children are engaging with the week and supporting one another. 💛
