Manor Drive Primary Academy Launches Parent‑and‑Pupil Maths Workshops

Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, is delighted to announce the successful launch of our first in a series of parent and pupil maths workshops, beginning with Year Three on 5th May 2026. The sessions are designed to strengthen home–school partnerships and give families a deeper insight into how mathematics is taught across the academy.

Parents were welcomed into school and invited to explore a dedicated maths display, showcasing pupils’ work and the school’s approach to developing confident, curious mathematicians.

Before joining their children, parents heard from Ms. Hillson, the school’s Maths Lead, who shared:

  • What mathematics looks like at Manor Drive
  • How the four operations are taught
  • Ways parents can support maths learning at home

Her talk helped families understand the school’s vision for maths and the strategies used to build strong number sense and problem‑solving skills.

 Learning Together in the Classroom

Parents then joined their children in classrooms for a practical, hands‑on maths session. Teachers delivered a short teaching input focused on one of the four operations, modelling the methods pupils use in their daily lessons.

The workshop ended with parents and children enjoying a maths game together, reinforcing the day’s learning in a fun and interactive way. Additional spaces were available for groups needing more room, ensuring every family could take part comfortably.

Upcoming Workshop Dates

The academy looks forward to welcoming more families on the following dates:

  • Year 1 – 12th May 2026
  • Year 2 – 18th May 2026
  • Year 4 – 2nd June 2026
  • Year 5 – 9th June 2026

Each workshop will follow the same structure, offering parents valuable insight into the school’s maths curriculum and giving pupils the chance to proudly share their learning.
