Key Stage One’s Wonderful Day at Hunstanton Sea Life Centre and the Beach

Key Stage One pupils from Manor Drive Primary Academy enjoyed a truly memorable adventure last week as part of their topic studies, exploring the fascinating world beneath the waves at Hunstanton Sea Life Centre before finishing the day with sunshine, sand and ice‑cream by the sea.

The weather could not have been kinder. Warm sunshine and a gentle sea breeze set the perfect scene for a day of discovery, curiosity and plenty of smiles, the ideal backdrop for young learners diving deeper into their topic work on the natural world and coastal environments.

A Day Filled with Discovery

Inside the Sea Life Centre, the children were captivated from the moment they stepped through the doors. They were thrilled to come face‑to‑face with:

  • Sharks gliding silently through the water

  • Penguins waddling, swimming and showing off their playful personalities

  • Seals relaxing and splashing in their enclosure

  • Starfish and other fascinating creatures in the interactive rockpool

  • And much more, sparking endless questions and wide‑eyed wonder

The visit brought classroom learning to life, helping children connect their studies to real‑world experiences in a way that only hands‑on exploration can achieve.

Sunshine, Sand and Ice‑Cream

After their tour, the children headed to the beach where the glorious weather made the afternoon even more special. Buckets and spades appeared instantly, sandcastles rose proudly, and laughter filled the air as pupils enjoyed free play along the shoreline.

No seaside trip would be complete without a treat, and the children finished their day with delicious ice‑cream, the perfect ending to a perfect outing.

A Huge Thank You

A heartfelt “Thank You” goes to all the staff who supported the trip and ensured everything ran smoothly. Their hard work, enthusiasm and care helped make the day a huge success for every child involved.
