Year Five Explore History First‑Hand at Duxford Imperial War Museum

Our Year Five pupils at Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of The Four Cs Trust, enjoyed an unforgettable learning experience this week as they spent the day at the Duxford Imperial War Museum.

The visit brought their curriculum to life in the most powerful way. Pupils explored historic aircraft, engineering innovations, and personal stories from across the decades, deepening their understanding of conflict, courage, and technological change. Seeing these artefacts up close sparked curiosity, thoughtful questions, and a real sense of awe.

A heartfelt thank‑you goes to Ms. Hillson for organising such a rich and memorable day, and to all staff who supported the trip and ensured our pupils were safe, engaged, and inspired throughout.

Experiences like this help our children connect classroom learning with the wider world, and today our Year Five pupils certainly did just that. Their enthusiasm, respect, and eagerness to learn made us incredibly proud.

We look forward to building on this fantastic learning back in school as the children continue their journey through the topic.
