Year Six Investigating Electrical Circuits in Science

At Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, our Year Six pupils have been deepening their understanding of electricity through hands‑on circuit investigations. Mountain Hawks explored a wide range of circuit setups, carefully testing which configurations produced a complete, working circuit and which did not.

Using bulbs, wires, batteries and switches, the children experimented, observed and refined their ideas. Through this practical enquiry, they were able to explain the essential components needed for a circuit to function and discuss why certain circuits failed to work.

Their curiosity, teamwork and scientific thinking shone throughout the lesson, well done, Mountain Hawks!
