Year Two Samba Drumming Sessions 20.10.25

Year Two Children Bring the Beat with Samba Drumming!

This term, our Year Two children have been enjoying the vibrant rhythms of samba drumming, led by a specialist music teacher from the Peterborough Music Hub. The sessions have been a huge hit, filling classrooms and corridors with energy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles!

Through these exciting lessons, the children have explored how different beats layer together to create the lively samba rhythms traditionally heard at Brazilian carnivals.

The sessions have not only developed the children’s musical skills but have also helped to build confidence, coordination, and cooperation as they work together to keep in time and follow the conductor’s signals. Every week, their enthusiasm grows as they become more confident with their instruments and begin to perform as a real samba band.

One pupil said, “It’s so much fun when we all play together – it sounds amazing!” Another added, “I love the big drums because you can really feel the beat!”

We are incredibly grateful to the Peterborough Music Hub for providing such a joyful and enriching experience. The sessions have brought our Year Two classes together through the power of rhythm, teamwork, and creativity.

Manor Drive is certainly alive with the sound of samba!
