Manor Drive Primary Academy Enjoys a Winter Wonderland 06.01.26

Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four C’s Trust, has been enjoying a magical taste of winter this week as a light dusting of snow and ice transformed our outdoor spaces into an exciting learning environment.

Children across the school were eager to wrap up warm and head outside to explore the seasonal changes. The crisp air and icy surfaces sparked curiosity, conversation and plenty of smiles as pupils observed how their surroundings looked and felt different.

Our youngest learners in EYFS particularly delighted in hands-on exploration. The children investigated an iced-over tough tray, carefully touching, scraping and talking about the frozen textures they discovered. Outdoors, they enthusiastically made marks in the snow, experimenting with patterns and movements while developing their fine motor skills and creativity.

These experiences provided valuable opportunities for sensory play, language development and collaborative learning, all while fostering a sense of wonder about the natural world. Even a small sprinkling of snow proved to be a powerful stimulus for learning and enjoyment.

We love making the most of every opportunity to learn through real-life experiences, and this wintry weather certainly created some memorable moments for our children.
