Throughout the week, the children explored and compared different versions of the story, becoming story investigators as they examined a range of texts. They carefully discussed front covers, characters, themes and key events, thinking about how each version was similar to, or different from, the original traditional tale.

This exciting work encouraged pupils to develop their comprehension and critical thinking skills, while deepening their understanding of how stories can be retold and adapted in creative ways. The children especially enjoyed spotting changes in characters and events, and sharing their opinions about which versions they liked best and why.

It was a fantastic week of learning, with Year Two showing great enthusiasm, curiosity and growing confidence in their writing and discussion skills.
