Community Spirit in Action: Ramadan Litter Pick Success

Our Headteacher, Mrs Marks, had the pleasure of joining one of our Reception children and her mum from Bears Class for a very special community event – a Ramadan Litter Pick organised by the local Muslim Scouts.

The event brought together families and volunteers who wanted to give something back to the community during the holy month of Ramadan. Armed with gloves, litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, we set out to help tidy up Rock Park and the surrounding area, including Lincoln Road.

It was wonderful to see such a positive community spirit in action. Adults and children worked side by side, collecting bags of litter and helping to make our local environment cleaner and safer for everyone. Our Reception pupil represented the school beautifully, showing great care and determination throughout the morning.

The litter pick was arranged by the Muslim Scouts as part of their commitment to service during Ramadan, a time that encourages reflection, generosity and acts of kindness. Their dedication to supporting the local area was clear to see, and we were delighted to be involved.

A particular highlight of the day was meeting the local Imam. It was a pleasure to speak with him and learn more about the work being done within the community. We are very pleased that he has kindly offered to visit our school in the near future, which will be a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn more about different faiths and cultures.

A huge thank you to the Muslim Scouts for organising such a meaningful event, and to our Bears Class family for inviting us to take part. We are proud to support initiatives that bring our community together and help our children understand the importance of caring for the world around them.
