Eco Warriors Take Climate Action at Manor Drive Primary Academy

At Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Academy Trust, we were delighted to welcome Cleo and her team from RAFT (Retrofit Action for Tomorrow) for an inspiring and action-packed day of climate learning.

The visit began with a whole school assembly, where Cleo introduced our pupils to the important link between school buildings and climate change. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, children learned how the way buildings are designed, heated and powered can have a real impact on the environment. The assembly encouraged pupils to think critically about energy use, carbon footprints and how small changes can make a big difference.

Following the assembly, Cleo and the RAFT team worked closely with our dedicated Eco Warrior group in a face-to-face workshop. This hands-on session gave our pupils the opportunity to explore their own school building in greater detail. The children investigated how energy is used across the site, discussed ways to reduce waste, and considered practical steps that could help make Manor Drive even more environmentally friendly.

The workshops were filled with thoughtful questions, teamwork and problem-solving. Our Eco Warriors showed fantastic enthusiasm and maturity as they reflected on how they can become climate champions within our school community.

It was truly an interactive and fun day of learning, empowering our pupils with knowledge about their school environment and how it connects to the wider issue of climate change. We are incredibly proud of the way our children embraced the opportunity and demonstrated their commitment to protecting our planet.

A huge thank you to Cleo and the RAFT team for supporting us on our sustainability journey. Together, we are building a greener future, one small change at a time. đŸŒ±
