Allergy Awareness Week

This week, pupils at Manor Drive Primary Academy, part of the Four Cs Trust, have been learning all about allergies as part of Allergy Awareness Week. Across the school, children explored what allergies are, how they affect the body, the symptoms to look out for, and the important steps we can all take to keep one another safe.

During their PSHE lessons, each year group approached the topic in age-appropriate ways, asking thoughtful questions, sharing personal experiences, and developing a deeper understanding of how allergies can impact daily life. The children showed great maturity as they discussed how small actions, such as handwashing, food awareness and kindness, can make a big difference to those living with allergies.

To bring our learning together, we gathered for a whole‑school assembly where pupils proudly shared what they had discovered. It was wonderful to see how confidently they spoke about responsibility, empathy and the role we all play in keeping our school community safe.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Brady and the pupils who supported the assembly by presenting their year group’s learning. They represented their classes brilliantly and demonstrated the thoughtful, caring attitudes we value so highly at Manor Drive.

We are incredibly proud of the children for embracing this important topic and for showing such awareness both in and beyond the classroom.
